It's well worth the trouble it takes to set it up.DiRT Rally 2.0 dares you to carve your way through a selection of iconic rally locations from across the globe, in the most powerful off-road vehicles ever made, knowing that the smallest mistake could end your stage. clear and smooth as butter!ĭiRT Rally is probably the best VR game I've played yet. Otherwise, I'm able to run everything on high/ultra with SS set to 150% in SteamVR and the game is sharp. For German stages I still needed to turn "ground cover" off. This was enough to fix tracking and FR issues everywhere except Germany. What fixed these issues for me was going into VIDEO MODE and setting resolution to minimum (1024X768) and turning Multisampling OFF. I have a fairly good VR rig: 16gb, GTX 1080 but I still had very choppy head tracking and FR drops. After playing around with many graphics setting I found this vid for graphics setup on the Vive/revive:ĭisregard the setup instructions and skip to 3:00 for suggested settings. Many WMR users (me included) experience bad head tracking with the view skipping and/or lagging. After this, the game should allow you to press the button of your wheel/controller and set it up for use in-game. TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM: When you get to the warning screen you need to left-mouse-click on the DR "mirror window" on your desktop. However, after this the game would not detect my wheel. The first time I encountered this screen I hit the button on my wheel (T150) but nothing happened, so I hit. To make it go away and finish loading the game, you need to hit the button on your wheel/controller or hit. When you start the game it will pause on a screen warning about different levels of intensity, etc. Step 2: Getting the game to recognize my racing wheel: This worked for me and once everything is set up you only need to launch DR directly from Steam-no need to start SteamVR first. If you want to change Super Sampling values for Revive, you will need to use OpenVRAdvanced Settings where there's a Revive specific tab for all settings relating to Revive. Start Steam VR then launch Dirt Rally as normal from the Steam Library - Ignore the warning about VR and just press "yes" (this step probably isn't needed but it won't hurt and takes seconds.)ĭelete Oculus software if you wish as it is no longer needed for Dirt Rally (I have not tried this method with other games yet) Repeat steps 7 & 8 but this time choose "inject" from Revive dashboard. dll files(Your Drive\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DiRT Rally) then run patch. Select "patch" then locate the Dirt.exe in same folder as you dropped the. Start Steam VR and right-click on the Revive icon in your Taskbar. Locate files "LibOVRRT32_1.dll" and "LibOVRRT64_1.dll" in C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache (C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime if you already had Oculus downloaded) Your drive letter may be different to mine - it'll be where you download stuff to.Ĭopy "LibOVRRT32_1.dll" and "LibOVRRT64_1.dll" to your Dirt Rally Steam folder (Your Drive\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DiRT Rally) If you do not already have Oculus Software see my links at the bottom If you already have Oculus installed skip to step 5īegin download of Oculus Software and cancel at 10 Here's a link to the original guide I used: Step 1: Getting the game to start in SteamVR: Most of these resources are for Vive/revive rather than WMR, but they worked just the same. I could not find a comprehensive guide to setting up DR anywhere, so I thought I would make a post collecting all the different resources I used to make the game work for me! Both games work and look great for me in WMR, but DiRT Rally definitely took a lot more effort to get going. I mainly bought it for sims type games like Elite Dangerous and DiRT Rally. So, I'm pretty new to VR/WMR having picked up my Lenovo Explorer in an after Xmas sale.
